OBJECTS ARE CLOSER THAN THEY APPEAR

21Jun

We celebrate the feast of the body and blood of Christ.  We pause to better examine this profession faith; Jesus aid really, truly, completely present in the eucharist.  Under the appearance of bread and wine Jesus comes to us; this real presence creates real union as we say amen.

STAIN OR SEED

21Jun

we reflect on this Thursday's readings.  We ponder the book of Sirach as it lays out for us a eulogy go sorts for Elijah some 600 years after Elijah departed the world via fiery chariot.  It points out that Elijah's existence was a seed for the future not a stain on the past.  What about our life?  Are we a stain or a seed?

UNUSUAL

18Jun

JEsus poses a question, "If you greet your brothers only, what is unusual about that?"  Are we unusual?  How are we unusual, unlike everyone else in what we say and do?  What makes our life unusual and rightfully so.

A GIFT

17Jun

We revisit the sermon of the mount, where JEsus begins his public ministry.  I was just there last week standing on the mount of Beatitudes.  What and how can that first sermon of JEsus be summarized?  The entire message that is 3 chapters long can be summed up in one little word.
